Rafael Correa leaves Alliance PAIS Movement .

QUITO, Ecuador. – Militants of the PAIS Alliance official movement, allied with former president of Ecuador Rafael Correa, announced on Tuesday his disaffiliation of the political organization and the creation of a new group, called the Citizen Revolution Party.

This was reported by Assemblymember Gabriela Rivadeneira, who served as Executive Secretary of PAIS Alliance and is part of those who decided to separate from the movement, considering that it does not respond to the program for which it was created.

Rivadeneira explained that despite the current decision, they will not stop working in the campaign for saying NO to at least three of the seven questions of the popular consultation and referendum driven by the head of State, Lenin Moreno.

Correa was the first to announce this January 16th his disaffiliation of the political organization, a decision backed by the former director and militants.
