LA PAZ, Bolivia.- Since his arrival for the Presidency of Bolivia, Evo Morales has implemented social policies for the benefit of the most vulnerable sectors, and in this context he advocates for a greater protection towards seniors.

A recently enacted law in the South American nation increases the Dignity Income or Universal Old-Age Pension, an economic incentive benefiting more than 1 million people over the age of 60.

We arrived in the Government thanks to the struggle of the people, it is our obligation to create programs and deliver works for all Bolivians, especially for the most vulnerable sectors, Evo Morales wrote on his account on Twitter.

According to the 2017 projections of the National Statistical Institute, adults over 60 in Bolivia represent almost 9% of the country’s total population.
