Mexico will protect its companies before Helms-Burton Act.

MEXICO CITY, Mexico.- The Mexican Government issued a statement regretting the United States’ decision to apply for the first time Title III of the Helms-Burton Act.

Mexico also reported it would protect its companies that negotiate or are interested in negotiating with Cuba and that that measure could affect.

The communiqué ratifies that Mexico rejects the application of unilateral trade laws on an extraterritorial basis, as they violate the rules of international law.

In this sense, the Northern nation endorses its support for the end of the economic and commercial blockade imposed on Cuba almost 60 years ago, which has affected the development in various social spheres.
