CARACAS, Venezuela.- Through Twitter social network the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, welcomed the ten thousand returnees who returned to the country through the Back to the Motherland government program.

Maduro urged the Venezuelans who have arrived from Peru, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Argentina, Chile and Panama to insert into the social and economic life of the country.

Surveys of these citizens’ arrival revealed that the highest percentage is for young women, then adults, children and the elderly, mostly victims of a strong international campaign to leave the country with false promises.

They left Venezuela in the hope of getting better opportunities, however the Venezuelan Executive earmarked more than 72 percent of the national budget to social investment this year.
