CARACAS, Venezuela. – The Executive Vice President of Venezuela, Tarek El Aissami, announced this Wednesday the presidential candidacy of Nicolas Maduro for the 2018 elections.

“We will have, God willing, the re-election of our brother Nicholas Maduro as President of the Republic. They (the opposition) may follow their plan (destabilizing) but let´s not to be over-confident,” said El Aissami during a meeting with members of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) in Aragua State.

The politician ratified the PSUV and allies of the Great Patriotic Pole (GPP) will participate as a perfect alliance in the municipal elections of December 10, where Chavismo works to sweep.

“We already recognize the moral authority of the National Electoral Council (CNE) and we have registered all the candidates (335) to the municipal elections on December 10”, he said.

The Venezuelan Vice President emphasized that from the ranks of the Bolivarian Revolution “we are prepared to achieve a great victory in 2017 and 2018, this people woke up because we are the people of hardship”.

On the other hand, in a message on Facebook, Maduro ratified its government´s will to move forward against the aggressions and difficulties the country faces.

The President expressed the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to resize the action and productivity of Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) with the working class, in a new phase of revolutionary transformation to guide its resources to the direct social and economic attention of the people.

“We will overcome any difficulty, because we are loaded with the moral energy of so many years of struggle”, he said, according to PL.

Maduro referred to the meeting he recently held with the oil working class “to discuss the great lines of action we have to recover, purify and strengthen the production of oil, gas and petrochemicals, to generate the economic resources our people need.”

The Venezuelan President pointed out that the new management arriving today at the national industry will redirect this company to the service of the development of the national economic life, because mafias of corruption pretended to divert it from this target. The Attorney general of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, investigates them.

In that meeting, together with the new Oil Minister and president of PDVSA, Manuel Quevedo, Maduro explained how mafias penetrated the structure of the first company in the country, as part of a plan to destabilize Venezuela and generate big profits to corrupt sectors.
