Havana, Cuba.- The President of the National Assembly of Laos, Paty Yathotou, paid tribute Wednesday in Havana to the Cuban National Hero, Jose Marti, at the beginning of her program of activities in Cuba.

In the memorial named after the independence hero in the Revolution Square, Yathotou was accompanied by Laotian officials and hosts, including the president of the International Relations Committee of the National Assembly of People’s Power (ANPP), Yolanda Ferrer, who welcomed her last night at the airport.

According to the visitor’s agenda, this morning she will hold talks with the president of the ANPP, Esteban Lazo, a meeting framed in the mutual interest of strengthening parliamentary ties and friendship between the two countries.

Yathotou spoke last November with Cuba´s Head of State, Miguel Diaz-Canel, during the visit of the president to the Asian country as part of an international tour.
