BOGOTA, Colombia.-The President of Colombia, Juan Manuel Santos, nominated this Monday the judges of Special Justice for Peace, responsible for judging the crimes committed during the internal armed conflict.

As one of their first assignments, it will be up to the judges to apply the Amnesty Law, a function of ordinary justice officials but it will pass to that new jurisdiction.

The Colombian head of State said that the cornerstone of the peace agreement, which achieved on the issue of justice, is the pact that there is no amnesty for crimes against humanity and serious war crimes.

Today is a very special day for the construction of peace in our country, the President said in a ceremony at Nariño House, seat of the Presidency.
