Fernando Haddad in a hard dispute with right-wing Jair Bolsonaro.

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil. – Over a thousand Brazilian jurists backed this Wednesday to Fernando Haddad, the presidential candidate for the Workers’ Party, to consider him the only one able to guarantee the continuity of democracy in the country.

In turn, several political groups in the European Parliament called on the Brazilians to reflect on the severity of the current historical moment, and warned them that between democracy and fascism there is no neutrality.

The support of Haddad was joined by actor Wagner Moura, who appealed to stop the ascension of fascism, represented by the candidacy of Bolsonaro, and writer Luiz Schwarcz, owner of one of the largest publishers in Brazil.

The Governor of the northeastern state of Ceara, Camilo Santana, pointed out that Haddad is the only presidential capable of promoting dialogue, understanding and the union of forces that Brazil needs so much to grow.
