LA PAZ, Bolivia.- Bolivia’s President, Evo Morales, highlighted the country’s natural diversity and richness, on occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity.

In a message from his Twitter account, the President said the Andean Amazon nation is among the ten countries with greater natural diversity and called to protect this natural heritage.

On Biodiversity Day we are proud that Bolivia is among the first countries with the greatest diversity of mammals and with a great richness of plant and fish species. We must care for and protect our natural heritage, Morales wrote.

The International Day for Biological Diversity is held on May 22 every year, by decision of the United Nations General Assembly since December 20, 2000.
