HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuban Vice Chancellor Marcelino Medina recognized the need to strengthen the integration mechanisms of Latin America, in front of the activism of the Organization of American States against the progressive Governments of the region.
In the context of the International Journalism Forum for the 60 anniversary of Operation Truth, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs indicated the importance of working in this regard in the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States.
Medina explained that the OAS continues to be the instrument of the United States, to try to overthrow the processes and governments that focus on the welfare of the human being, like Venezuela and Nicaragua.
Similarly, the Cuban Vice Chancellor referred to the American aggression to try to preserve the unipolar domination with the revival of the Monroe doctrine, characterized by its imperialist essence.
A Time of Unconventional Wars
In his speech in the International Forum of Journalism, Cuban Vice Chancellor Marcelino Medina spoke about the gestation of unconventional wars, as well as politically motivated judicial actions, and campaigns of discredit against social organizations and leftist leaders.
To face this strategy, the diplomat argued it is imperative, moreover, to maintain the continuity of the political consensus of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America – Peoples’ Trade Treaty.
The Vice-Chancellor stated that in this context, the articulation of the Latin American left is key in scenarios such as the Sao Paulo Forum.
Medina also highlighted it is peremptory the defense of the proclamation of Latin America and the Caribbean as a zone of peace, signed in 2014 in Havana during the second summit of CELAC, which advocates the stability of the region.
