HAVANA, Cuba.- The Cuban Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodriguez, said on his Twitter account this Thursday that the support of his country to Nicolas Maduro and the Bolivarian and chavista Revolution is and will be invariable.

The Chancellor also rejected the coup actions in the South American country and interventionism. With its irresponsible, provocative and violation actions of international law, the United States threatens the peace and stability of Venezuela and the region, he said in his statement on the social network.

In other publications on Twitter, Bruno Rodriguez also stated that the sovereign will of the people of Venezuela will prevail in the face of imperialist intervention. History will judge those who encourage and recognize coup encroachment.

The pronouncement reaffirms the Cuban position against the situation, and constitutes a support to the statements of President Miguel Diaz-Canel, who expressed that Cuba condemns and strongly rejects the attempt to impose, through a coup d’état, a servile government to the United States in Venezuela.

Meanwhile, the first elected President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, ordered the return of all diplomatic and consular personnel, as well as the closure of all the offices of the South American nation in the United States.

The decision responds to the attitude of the US Government, which recognized Juan Guaido, head of the National Assembly (Parliament in contempt), as interim president of the country.
