LIMA, Peru. – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Cuba, Bruno Rodríguez, arrived in the Peruvian capital heading the government delegation that will participate in the eighth Summit of the Americas, to be held until tomorrow.

They are members of the Cuban Committee, the Minister of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca; Vice-Ministers of Foreign Affairs Ana Teresa Gonzalez and Rogelio Sierra, as well as the Ambassador of Cuba to Peru, Sergio Gonzalez.

This is the second time that Cuba participates in hemispheric appointments, the first one was in Panama in 2015, because during the first six editions of the mechanism the island was excluded by pressures from Washington.

Cuba´s return to the summits of the Americas was the result of a firm position of the Latin American and Caribbean countries of not to attend future meetings if it did not include the island.
