Beirut, Lebanon.- Cuban Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Pellicer on Monday recalled Fidel Castro’s concept of Revolution when he presented in Beirut the documentary Stories about Fidel, which contains little known details about the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

On May 1, 2000, Fidel Castro expressed the need to change everything that must be changed; to achieve full equality and freedom; to be treated and to treat others as human beings.

During the tribute to Fidel Castro on the second anniversary of his death, Pellicer referred to the commander’s commitment to solidarity at the helm of a socialist revolution of the humble, by the humble and for the humble.

He became, as the head of the Cuban mission pointed out, a symbol of the anti-colonialist, anti-apartheid and anti-imperialist struggle, as well as the struggle for the emancipation and dignity of the peoples.

Fidel Castro, he continued, renounced a life of wealth and luxury to follow a dream, to be faithful to his ideals, convinced that a better world is possible; a world without wars, without hatred, without hegemonisms, without exploiters or exploited.

The concept of Revolution, he noted, was one of his most important historic legacies in which he explained that it is a deep conviction that there is no force in the world capable of crushing the force of truth and ideas.

For such a reason, the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution is present in those men determined to build a better world, he said.

Fidel is still living in each one of us, he stressed, and when we bear his flag, his struggle and resistance we are paying him the best possible tribute.
