Havana, Cuba.- President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Wednesday stated that Cuba supports the Bolivarian revolution led by his Venezuelan peer, Nicolas Maduro.

‘As our Foreign Minister said, we will be soon in Caracas to attend the inauguration of Venezuela’s President-elect, Nicolas Maduro,’ the president posted on his Twitter account @DiazCanelB.

‘Cuba is defending and supporting the Venezuelan sovereignty and Bolivarian integration,’ the head of State wrote.

Diaz-Canel previously posted on Twitter that ‘the sovereignty of our people is currently resolved in the attitude towards Venezuela.’

Supporting the legitimate right of Venezuela to decide its destiny is to defend the dignity of all. Our America cannot be the backyard of the Empire again.’

The Cuban president along with the First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party, Raul Castro, have reiterated the permanent and unconditional support to the Bolivarian revolution, while demanding the end of the economic, political and media war that is being carried out against Venezuela.
