Cuba and Vietnam Sign Plan for Political Consulting Affairs

Havana, Cuba.- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla and Vietnamese Assistant Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh have signed in Havana a plan for bilateral political consultations for the 2020-2022 period.

The two sides want to strenghten political dialogue on issues of interest in bilateral and multilateral affairs between the Foreign Ministries of Cuba and Vietnam.

The signing ceremony is part of Pham Binh Minh’s agenda in his working visit to Cuba he started on Monday, that includes an official reception by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

Prior to this, in a meeting at the venue or host building of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Rodríguez and the Vietnamese official reasserted the historical ties of brotherhood and trust between both nations which are celebrating 60 years of bilateral relations.

Bruno Rodriguez noted that 2018 was very productive in economic and commercial relations, investment and cooperation, and stressed that there is a promising future in the exchanges at the highest level.

Cuba and Vietnam established diplomatic relations on December 2, 1960.

Both countries maintain historical and special ties, based on solidarity, brotherhood, mutual support among people, parties and governments.
