Flags of Cuba and Syria.

DAMASCUS, Syria.- The President of the Assembly of the Syrian people or Parliament, Hamoudah Sabbag, held in Damascus a meeting with Cuban Ambassador, Miguel Porto Parga, in which they agreed to consolidate the relations between the two nations.

Sabbag referred to the historical relations of friendship between Syria and Cuba, and called to develop them in all fields, particularly in the parliamentary aspect, in addition to praising the firmness and resistance of the island to the imperialist attacks.

Ambassador Porto expressed Cuba´s solidarity with all the just causes of the peoples in the world, in particular with that of Syria that fights against international terrorism.

The meeting was attended by members of the Syrian-Cuban Friendship Parliamentary Group, who discussed the issue of consolidating relations and broadening them to reactivate the agreements established in this regard.
