Havana, Cuba.-The Austrian vice-minister of Science, Research and Economy, Bernadette Marianne Gierlinger, is beginning a visit to Cuba today, with the purpose of signing a memorandum of understanding on international economic collaboration.

According to a press release published on the website of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the Austrian official was invited by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Investment.

The Austrian delegation is also composed of representatives of the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology, the Austrian Institute of Technology and the business sector.

Her visit includes meetings with officials from the Cuban ministries of Industry, Energy and Mining, Science, Technology and Environment, as well as of the National Institute of Water Resources.

The document added that the visit to Cuba was laid in the framework of the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Austria and Cuba and at the same time, it was an important landmark in the effort to strengthen bilateral economic and trade relations.
