Bogota, Colombia.- Colombians and Cubans highlighted in Bogota the humanist legacy of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, palpable in areas such as education, health, childcare and internationalism.

Cuban Ambassador to Colombia, Jose Luis Ponce, referred to the new group of young Colombians who traveled to Havana on Tuesday to study at the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), as part of a Cuban government initiative to support reintegration after the Peace Agreement was signed in Havana.

During a meeting in which the documentary ‘La voz de la inocencia’ (The Voice of Innocence) was screened, in tribute to the 93rd anniversary of Fidel’s birth, Ponce told these young people that having a School from which thousands of students from Third World countries have graduated would not have been possible if not for the idea of the Commander-in-Chief.

ELAM graduated doctors attending the meeting thanked the Cuban government for its solidarity in providing 1,000 scholarships to the Colombian people to facilitate reintegration after the signing of the Peace Agreement between the Colombian State and the former Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People’s Army in 2016.
