China devotes large resources to disaster recovery

BEIJING, China.- The People’s Republic of China announced the delivery of $30 million to fund the recovery of several provinces ravaged by droughts, floods and other natural disasters since the beginning of the year.

The most injured cities will receive the funds in order to undertake damage mitigation programs in the face of lack of rainfall, while the Fujian Enclave will use them in the rehabilitation of infrastructure and care for those affected by floods and consequent landslides.

China is in a difficult environmental situation because of the combination of extreme drought in the southwest and northeast, as well as incessant downpours in southern areas.

Both phenomena left several dead, millions of citizens affected and significant material losses this year, so Beijing assigned a great deal of resources to get out of the crisis.
