Leaving the European Union could cost the British almost half a million jobs.

LONDON, United Kingdom.- A study by the London Mayor´s Office considers that the departure of the UK from the European Union, a process known as Brexit, could cost almost half a million jobs to the country.

The inquiry adds that if the country leaves the European Union without an agreement with the bloc, it could lose 482,000 jobs from 2019 to 2030.

The study by Cambridge Econometrics clarifies that if that nation did not manage to negotiate a transition period for the departure or an agreement on future business relationship, such a problem would be effective.

The conclusions of the study show the potential economic risks–and the human cost–at stake in the negotiations, and accused the government of an utter lack of readiness to assess the impact of Brexit.
