HAVANA, Cuba.- Creating productive capacities to stabilize and strengthen milling industry was a call by Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez in evaluating the results of the Ministry of Food Industry during 2019.

Together with agriculture, the President insisted, we must look for maize and cassava production schemes to make flour, and make bread, pastries and other foods.

Food Industry Minister Manuel Sobrino acknowledged that the production of wheat flour, oil, milk powder, yogurt and beer was affected last year; while praised the sale of new products to the population such as miragurt and fish jam.

Sobrino highlighted that seven kinds of products are made for underweight pregnant women, newborns with lactation problems, lactose intolerant, coeliacs, and burnt patients.
