Havana, Cuba.- Public Health Minister of Cuba Jose Angel Portal has rejected on Tuesday any kind of manipulation used to distort the real commitment and the solidarity principles of the Cuban medical cooperation in foreign countries.

The Cuban official addressed the 12th Meeting of Public Health Ministers of the Movement of Non-Aligned Countries, in the framework of the 72nd World Assembly on Health, in session in Geneva until May 28.

In a forum parallel to the event and organized by Bolivia, Portal also gave a conference in which he confirmed Havana’s commitment to share its experiences in the development of Primary Health Care.

In a bilateral meeting, Portal and his Bolivian counterpart Lilly Gabriela Montaño talked about sanitary cooperation between Cuba and Bolivia and agreed to undertake new projects.

In a message in Twitter, Portal assured Cuba and Bolivia are strengthening collaboration in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.

Opened on Monday with a warning message regarding the outbreak of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the 72nd World Health Assembly has “Health for all: leaving no one behind” as its central motto.

This event brings together representatives of the member states of the United Nations each year.
