LIMA, Peru. – In the 25-meter fast pistol mode, the Cuban delegation won its sixth gold medal with Jorge Felix Alvarez, and its ninth silver metal with Leuris Pupo, at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games.

In this way, Cuba managed to make 1-2 in a competition widely dominated by the Cubans, at the top of the 28 points achieved by Alvarez, and the 26 of Pupo, an Olympic champion at London 2012.

Despite the shortcomings these athletes deal with in their training, shooting has been the discipline with more medals, with 4 golds, 2 silvers and 1 bronze, what confirms the good health of this sport.

Cuba will have the possibility to add other gold medals today, through the 5 boxing finals tonight, where the Cuban pugilists are favorites.
