HAVANA, Cuba. – The President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, received on Tuesday afternoon the thirtieth edition of the United States-Cuba Friendship Caravan, organized by IFCO/Pastors for Peace.

The 34 members of the caravan headed by its executive director Gail Frances Walker are from Arizona, California, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, and Washington, as well as Mexico and Canada.

At the meeting, Diaz-Canel expressed the Cubans’ gratitude for the valuable work of solidarity carried out by the Pastors for Peace, who represent the noblest feelings of the American people.

A Valuable Charity Work

During their meeting with Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, the visitors expressed a willingness to continue organizing these caravans of love and friendship in support of the island.

Fernando Gonzalez Llort, president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with Peoples, Caridad Diego Bello, head of the Office of Religious Affairs of the Communist Party Central Committee, as well as representatives of the Martin Luther King Center also participated.

After touring 46 cities, that solidarity project came to Cuba once again in defiance of the blocking policy and travel restrictions imposed by the United States government.

They are mostly social activists, community leaders, college students, teachers and professors.
