Havana, Cuba.- With the performance of renowned national artists, the Josone Varadero Rumba, Jazz & Son Festival kicks off on Thursday to show a broad sound spectrum on stage for four days.

The second edition of the event will begin with a concert by instrumentalist, arranger and composer Emilio Vega y su Paso al Frente band, followed an hour later by renowned rumba group Yoruba Andabo.

The lists of artists Thursday night include Alain Perez, Haila Maria Mompie and Los Van Van orchestra. Popular urban music group Los 4 will close today’s performance.

Based in the major tourist resort in Cuba, the festival, to be run until August 25, proposes for the following days the performances of Peruvian folklorist Eva Ayllon, ambassadors of jazz and African rhythms Weedie Braimah and The Hands of Time, from Ghana, and Venezuela’s Quintero’s Latin Jazz Project.

Pop group Buena Fe, Eme Alfonso, Descemer Bueno, Divan, Adalberto Alvarez y su Son, and Alexander Abreu y Havana D’Primera, among other musical groups, are also on the list.
