mes cultura francesaHavana, Cuba.-Over the next few months, Cuba will celebrate French culture with a wide-range activity program that will be held on Thursday with the 20th edition of the French Film Festival, the organizers said.

The event will be opened at 8:30 pm local time at Charles Chaplin Movie Theater and will include the showing of about 30 classic and contemporary films until May 31.

The Festival will be dedicated to the renowned French Filmmaker Jean-Pierre Melville on the occasion of the centenary of his birth, and who will honor Belgian Agnes Varda.

In addition to the French Film Festival week, there will be also exhibitions, workshops, colloquia and presentations related to French photography, dance, theater, design, architecture and literature from May to June.

This great event, in its second edition, will value the deep artistic cooperation and friendship relations between both nations. Plus, it will help us to discover Cuban film artists and to celebrate the French culture and the bilateral ties, the French Ambassador to Cuba Jean-Marie Bruno stated.
