Cuban President Reaffirms Solidarity with Lula da Silva

Cubans demand Lula da Silva’s freedom.

HAVANA, Cuba.- Cuba’s President Miguel Diaz-Canel ratified on Twitter this Tuesday  the claim for the immediate release of former Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, victim of a political and judicial conspiracy that keeps him in prison more than a year ago on false charges.

In the early hours of this Tuesday, the Cuban President wrote on Twitter: With our signatures we will demand the immediate release of Lula da Silva. #LulaLivre #LulaInocente #SomosCuba #SomosContinuidad in reference to the movement that takes place in Cuba to collect signatures demanding the freedom of the leader of the Workers’ Party (PT).

The Cuban people will develop until October 28 a process of collecting signatures in workplaces and education centers throughout the country, claiming the freedom of former Brazilian President Lula da Silva, who is imprisoned for politicized judicial causes and next  October 27 will be 74 years old in that condition, Granma newspaper stands out today.

Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel claim for Lula’s release adds to the millions of people around the world who demand the freedom of the Brazilian leader.
