Havana, Cuba.- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel on Thursday called not to underestimate the historical adversaries that deploy great resources to overthrow the progressive and popular forces in power.

‘We are along with Maduro because, as we have said: ‘it is not possible to underestimate the great deployment of resources of our historical adversaries to prevent that progressive and popular forces remain in government,’ the president posted on his Twitter account @DiazCanelB.

‘We have arrived in Venezuela, to personally bring the Cuban solidarity with President Nicolas Maduro Moros, democratically elected by his people,’ Diaz-Canel wrote in his message.

The Cuban president previously wrote, ‘again in Venezuela, with our brothers of struggles and dreams for the dignity of the people. The ALBA-TCP next to the brother that they attack. It’s the time to retell and united march.’

During the speech celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Cuban Revolution, on January 1, Raul Castro, First Secretary of the Cuban Communist Party (PCC), stated that no threat will make us give up being in solidarity with Venezuela.

He warned that the repeated Venezuela’s statement as a threat to the U.S. national security, the calls to the military coup against his government, military exercises near its borders, as well as tensions and incidents in the area can only lead to a serious instability and unpredictable consequences, Raul Castro said.

Venezuela was the first country Diaz-Canel visited after taking office as Cuba’s president, and Maduro was the first statesman who traveled to Cuba after April 19, when the Cuban president took his post.
