The Chancellor of Spain paid tribute to Jose Marti.

HAVANA, Cuba.- Spanish Chancellor Josep Borrell paid tribute to the National Hero of Cuba, Jose Marti, at the Memorial of the same name located in Havana, as part of his visit to Cuba.

The European diplomat’s agenda includes a meeting with his Cuban counterpart, Bruno Rodriguez and other authorities to address issues of bilateral cooperation.

Cuba and Spain have been in uninterrupted diplomatic ties since 1902, and today that European nation is the third trading partner of the island and the numberone in the continent.

Bilateral ties were strengthened by the visit to Havana of the President of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, at the end of 2018, when memorandums of understanding and other documents were signed.
