Fifteen years of the Barrio Adentro Mission.

CARACAS, Venezuela. – The President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, commemorated the creation of the Barrio Adentro Mission, aimed at providing free medical care to the population, especially the most disadvantaged sectors.

Maduro underlined the scope of this social protection program founded by the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chavez that has the participation of Cuban health professionals.

“We celebrate the fifteen years of the Barrio Adentro Mission, one of the most important social policies of the revolutionary process that has allowed to attend and save the lives of millions of Venezuelans. We continue to bring social justice to all sectors of the country,” the Venezuelan President wrote.

This year, the Venezuelan Government decreed 100 percent of national coverage through the Barrio Adentro Mission, to guarantee the health services to the Venezuelan society.
