GENEVA, Switzerland.- The Foreign Minister of Venezuela, Jorge Arreaza, and the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Peter Maurer, debated in Geneva the economic and political situation of the South American nation.

The Venezuelan diplomat thanked the agency for rejecting the use of its emblems and logistics for the failed attempt to force the entry of alleged humanitarian aid last Saturday.

In this regard, Arreaza qualified this action as a psychological and propaganda operation deployed on the Colombian border.

Arreaza and Maurer also discussed the permanent siege of the U.S. government on Caracas and the media campaigns of discredit that seek to place the South American country in a crisis situation to justify a warmonger intervention.
