France rejects U.S. unilateral action against Cuba
PARIS, France.- Secretary of State for Foreign Trade and Tourism Jean-Baptiste Lemoyne expressed this Friday France’s rejection of U. S. unilateral measures against Cuba.

With our vote at the UN we confirm this position, Lemoyne said in referring to the adoption a month ago in the General Assembly of a resolution calling for the lifting of the blockade of the island, backed by 187 nations.

In the context of the 6th Session of the French-Cuban Economic and Trade Commission and following the signing of new cooperation agreements, the official acknowledged the complicated scenario for links with the island.

Lemoyne recalled that since the adoption of the Helms-Burton Act, an initiative codifying and strengthening the blockade, the European Union has taken steps to deal with the effects and application of U.S.  extraterritorial actions.
