France Launches a Contest to Rebuild Notre Dame Spire

PARIS, France.- France launched an international competition of architects to rebuild the spire of the Cathedral of Notre Dame of Paris, collapsed in the fire that broke off last Monday.

During a special meeting of the French cabinet, Prime Minister Edouard Philippe that the objective of the contest is to give the iconic Parisian cathedral a spire adapted to current technologies and challenges.

Philippe added that the authorities of the European nation have not yet estimated the total cost of the restoration work of the church, one of the most popular monuments in the French capital.

This Tuesday, the President of France, Emmanuel Macron promised to rebuild Notre Dame in five years, while his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, said he will send the best specialists to restore the temple.
