Washington, United States.- The Marti’s Alliance celebrated Cuba”s National Rebellion Day and the Sao Paulo Forum, informed this Monday the coalition, which joins in Miami, U.S., emigrant organizations from Cuba.

Representatives of the Foundation for the Normalization of U.S.-Cuba Relations and the Socialist Workers Party joined the event, which took place on Sunday.

Several speakers, according to a statement from the entity, referred to the significance of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks on July 26, 1953.

That day, more than a hundred young people, under the guidance of Fidel Castro, took part in these actions to begin the last stage of the struggles for the emancipation of the Cuban people.

Besides, those present at the meeting referred to the challenges for the economic, social and cultural development of Cuba and the result of the process of renewal of its political institutions by the new Constitution, enforced last February 24.

The decisions taken by left-wing political organizations and progressives attending the 25th edition of the Sao Paulo Forum in Venezuela and the 65th anniversary of the birth of Venezuelan leader Hugo Chavez (1954-2013) occupied space in the exhibitions.

The Venezuelan situation and the strong popular support for the Bolivarian Revolution, initiated by Chavez in 1999 and now continued under the guidance of President Nicolas Maduro, were also discussed.

There was an analysis of the recent events in Puerto Rico and the measures taken by the administration of U.S. President Donald Trump to subvert the Cuban revolutionary process.

Of primary importance, the document added, was the condemnation of the reasons why Trump takes on racist and class-based comments and policies that inexorably divide U.S. society and lead dangerously to violence and hatred.
