Bolivian Families without Access to Health Services

LA PAZ, Bolivia.- Many Bolivian families in remote communities today lack doctors and health personnel whose presence was reduced or zeroed after the coup against President Evo Morales.

In most of these places Cuban doctors worked under cooperation agreements signed during Evo Morales´s government; however, they all had to leave the country amid harassment from coup backs.

Following the departure of the Cuban doctors from that nation, de facto authorities began a ridiculous and aggressive campaign of discredit and doubts about the number and professionalism of those doctors.

Much of the Bolivian people currently lack medical services and some health institutions are demanding the payment of health care to relatives of injured people, in the context of the repression of the Armed Forces, under the orders of the de facto government.
